Now there is a way for the blind to access
Acrobat (PDF) documents: access.adobe.com
available free from Adobe. The Access server
allows you to read any Acrobat document on
the Web, using your familiar Web browser. It
converts Acrobat documents on the Internet
into HTML easily, which can then be read by
common screen-reading programs. All you need
is the ability to browse the Web. Here's a
sample Acrobat document that has been
converted to HTML. Also, check out a detailed
white paper about Acrobat Access.
There are three options for using the
access.adobe.com server to convert Acrobat
PDF documents into HTML: converting by proxy,
converting by form, or converting by e-mail.
The choice allows you to pick the service
that is most convenient to you.
