Hallo zusammen,

folgenden Hinweis habe ich im Usenet gefunden. Ich habe mir die Seite
noch nicht angesehen, hoffe aber, dass es sich bei den "accessibility
features" um eine bessere Zugaenglichkeit des Optionsmenues mittels
Sprachausgabe handelt.

Parrot has just released its latest generation voice recognition Personal
Digital Assistant, the Parrot Plus. This new hand-held device includes
accessibility features, providing visually impaired persons with full access
to all product features:

- A voice recognition telephone directory with a DMTF automatic speed dialer
- A voice pad for recording memos on the fly
- A voice planner for making appointments with a pager option
- A talking alarm clock
- A talking calculator

Parrot Plus has a built-in vocal assistance that can guide users at any step
of operation. It can speak menus and instructions in 6 languages - English,
French, German, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. A Japanese custom version of
the product is also available. Operation of Parrot Plus is very intuitive
and relies mainly on a side click button and a function scroll button.

Parrot Plus relies on state-of-the-art voice recognition software and
electronics. It has a powerful customized Texas Instruments Digital Signal
Processor that performs robust voice recognition. Power is supplied by 4
disposable AAA cells that will last for 3 months under normal operation.

Parrot Plus accessibility features were added at the request of visually
impaired users of our earlier PDA versions, and are now offered as a
standard on all our products.
