hallo,
imho wird bei der installation von winword kein importfilter fuer die aelteren
word versionen mitinstalliert. bei www.microsoft.de gibt es irgendwo in den
tiefen dieses servers eine selbstextrahierende exe die importfilter fuer word
zu winword bereitstellen. ich habe allerdings sehr lange suchen muessen und
diese filter zu finden.

aeltere wordversionen lassen sich ohne entsprechende filter nur sehr
ungenuegend in winword impotieren, ohne formatierung, ohne zeichensatz. man
kann dann von hand zu fuss die header der alten wordversionen entfernen und
neuformatieren.
ich haenge noch die readme der zusatzimportfilter an diese mail

This Wdsuppconv.exe file contains the following supplemental converters for
use with Microsoft Word 97:

 - Windows Write 3.0 or 3.1 (Write32.cnv)

 - RFT-DCA (Rftdca32.cnv)

 - Lotus Ami Pro 3.x (Ami332.cnv)

 - WordStar 3.3-7.0 for MS-DOS and WordStar for Windows 1.0-2.0  (import
   only) and WordStar 4.0 or 7.0 for MS-DOS (export only)  (Wrdstr32.cnv)

 - Microsoft Word 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x for MS-DOS (Doswrd32.cnv)


USING THE CONVERTERS
====================

To use these converters, copy the extracted .cnv files to the "\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Textconv" folder.

NOTE: If you are using a network installation of Microsoft Word and you are
running Word from the network server, a network administrator having the
required permissions on the network must copy the .cnv files to the
"\MSapps\Textconv" folder on the network.

In Word, when you open a file that was created in one of the programs for
which a converter is installed, the appropriate converter will be accessed
automatically and the document will be opened.
